1. Data we collect

Frienddix does not require an account. We process only the data needed to run the chat:

• the nickname and preferred language you choose;
• the messages you send, including the room code and the language you wrote in;
• automatic translations of messages, cached to speed up delivery.

2. Local storage

Your nickname, language, and an anonymous device identifier are saved in your browser's localStorage so you don't have to re-enter them. This data never leaves your device except as part of the messages you send, and you can delete it at any time by clearing your browser data.

3. Cookies and consent

Frienddix does not use advertising, analytics, or profiling cookies, and no data is shared with advertising networks. Only technical storage strictly necessary for the service to function (the nickname, language, device identifier, and room place described above) is used. Under the ePrivacy rules this storage does not require consent, so the notice shown on first visit is informational; your choice is remembered locally.

4. Legal basis and retention

We process this data on the basis of our legitimate interest in delivering the chat you asked for. Messages and their cached translations are deleted automatically 24 hours after they are sent, and are readable only while the room is open. Local preferences stay on your device until you clear them.

5. Minors

Frienddix is not intended for children under 16. If you are under that age, please do not use the service without the consent of a parent or guardian.

6. Third-party services and transfers

Messages are translated using a machine-translation service and an artificial-intelligence service: the text you send is processed solely to produce the translation and is not used to build advertising profiles. These providers may process the text on servers outside the European Economic Area, under the safeguards offered by their own terms.

7. Visibility of messages

Anything you write in a room is visible to everyone who has the room's link or code. Never share personal, sensitive, or confidential information in chat.

You have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, and object to the processing of your data, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Because Frienddix does not hold accounts, the fastest way to erase everything is to clear your browser storage and stop writing: messages disappear automatically within 24 hours. You may also contact the data controller at the email above to request earlier deletion of messages linked to your nickname.
